I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Sociology and Philosophy at the University of Arizona, and my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont. My post-graduate training has taken place in the public-school setting, where I worked with teens struggling with anxiety, depression, family and peer issues, eating disorders, substance abuse, self-harm and more. I also worked at Turning Point Center for Families, a non-profit in Costa Mesa, CA offering individuals a low cost option for therapy. My most recent job was with The Well Therapy Group where I helped individuals, couples, and families overcome difficulties and live happier and more meaningful lives.
I am a writer.
With a desire to make a difference in the world, I have written for Kris Carr’s Home of the Crazy Sexy Wellness Revolution for cancer survivors and Esteem Yourself E-Magazine which gives women tools to build self-esteem, confidence & self-worth.
You can find my most recent book Not Now, Cancer, I’m Busy on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and on this site under Media and Publications.
I am an activist.
I have made television appearances on The Dr. Phil Show (The Great School Debate), and CBS’s, The Talk, discussing my unique philosophy on education and raising happier humans. I want to see a change in how we raise and teach our young people today, with the hope of ensuring a safer more egalitarian society were all people thrive no matter one’s ethnicity, culture, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or color of skin.
I am a mother and lead singer in a rock band.
I am the mother of three young adults. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, taking long walks on the beach, and playing guitar in my all mom rock band.
